Guru Nanak Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha, honoured Harpreet Singh for being successful in the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

“We are immensely pleased with the outstanding achievement of Harpreet Singh, who has made the town and his state proud by securing first rank in Punjab and 19th position in the country,” said Jogeshwar Singh Mangat, senior vice-president, management committee of the school.

Harpreet Singh interacted with students and said, “We face situations in our life when destiny becomes a challenge for us. We must have the courage to face such challenges with optimism and bravery.” He motivated students by saying, “If you want to achieve something different from the crowd, your efforts have to be exceptional. No career is best. Your interest makes it so.”

Students expressed their delight on meeting such an inspiring personality, who had become a hero for the young minds desiring to be IAS officers.

Formely working in the BSF, Harpreet kept preparing for the exam. He achieved his goal with the support of his parents and teachers. Principal DP Thakur congratulated him on the success.
