Students awarded scholarships

LUDHIANA: Students of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were awarded scholarships by CLASS India, an agricultural products manufacturing company, in Morinda today.

Students of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were awarded scholarships by CLASS India, an agricultural products manufacturing company, in Morinda today. The CLAAS India group is known for their combine harvesters, balers and other agricultural equipment over the world.

Ashok Kumar, Dean of the college, said the PAU and CLAAS India have a long history of association and their aim was to achieve academic excellence in the institution. He emphasised further collaboration in industry-oriented research and internship programmes.

Ella Detkova, Director(HR) of CLAAS functionaries in India, US, Russia, China, Hungary and France, presented the scholarships to students and appreciated the role of agricultural engineers from the university in the company.

Ram Kannan, Managing Director, and Sandeep Hooda, Head, HR of CLAAS India, stressed on the need for building industry-institute interface.

SK Gupta and Vishal Bector, members of the training and placement committee of the college, said CLAAS India had been recruiting agricultural engineers from the university for years.
