Four held with stolen vehicles

LUDHIANA: The police have arrested four vehicle lifters and recovered eight stolen two-wheelers from their possession.

Ludhiana: The police have arrested four vehicle lifters and recovered eight stolen two-wheelers from their possession. The suspects have been identified as Sandeep Singh, alias Mani, Satnam Singh, Sandeep Singh, alias Baji, all of PAU, and Kuldeep Singh Keepa of Phullawal. Initially, the police recovered two motorcycles from the suspects. Later, on their disclosure six more stolen bikes were recovered. The police claimed that the suspects had stolen these vehicles from various places in the city. TNS

Man goes missing

Ludhiana: A 35-year-old man has gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Complainant Parminder Kaur of Prince Colony told the police that her brother Tarsem Singh had left home without informing anyone in the family. She suspected that her brother could have been kept under wrongful confinement by some unknown persons. The police launched manhunt to trace the man. TNS

Two held with banned medicines

Ludhiana: The Jamalpur police have arrested two persons with banned medicines. The suspects have been identified as Baljinder Singh of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Gagandeep Singh of Machiwara. Investigation officer, head constable Ram Parkash, said a tip-off was received about the suspects, who were on way to deliver intoxicant tablets to their clients. Accordingly a naka was laid at Budhewal village where a Maruti car was stopped for checking. As many as 1,190 tablets and 2,200 capsules were recovered from the suspects, who were in the vehicle. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the suspects. TNS 

Dowry case registered

Ludhiana: The women cell of the city police has registered a dowry harassment case against a man and his parents. Complainant Manpreet Kaur of Shimlapuri told the police that after she got married to Jagvinder Singh in 2017, she was subjected to mental and physical torture for the want of dowry. A case of dowry harassment was registered against Jagvinder, his father Jaspal Singh and mother Harinder Kaur of Sangowal village. They are yet to be arrested in the case. TNS
