Robbers throw chilli powder, rob gas agency worker of Rs 50K

Two robbers looted Rs 50,000 from a gas agency worker after throwing chili powder in his eyes. The victim has been identified as Faleshwar (58).

Sutlej Gas Agency owner Harman said Faleshwar worked as a delivery man in his agency. Today, the victim was coming towards gas agency situated at Midha Chowk to deposit the cash he had collected, he said.

“He had reached almost near the gas agency at around 5.15 pm when he was cornered by two persons, who first brutally attacked and injured him and threw chilli powder into his eyes. The suspects snatched the bag containing around Rs 50,000 cash from the victim and fled from the spot,” the owner revealed.

It was only when the robbers fled that the area people gathered at the spot and informed the gas agency owner about the incident. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital and was reported to be out of danger.

The gas agency owner said a complaint was lodged at the Kochar Market police station, but the FIR was yet to be registered.

Asked if he suspected victim’s role in the crime, the owner said, “Faleshwar has been working in our agency from the past several years. I have full faith on him.”
