Mystery shrouds the death of a man of Kilahans village in Ludhiana district whose body was found lying on the outskirts of the village yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Sanmeet Singh (29), brother of two sisters.

While members of the man’s family claims that he died of heart attack, his mother, who is staying in America, alleged he died of drug overdose.

However, Beant Singh of Mansa district, a maternal uncle of the deceased, alleged that Sanmeet Singh had been murdered.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Hardeep Singh Cheema said inquest proceedings had been initiated in the matter and further action would be initiated on the basis of postmortem report.

His mother, whose video clipping has gone viral in the region, has blamed a woman of the village for dragging her son into drug addiction. She has demanded action against the woman.
