Muklawa promotes traditional values, culture

LUDHIANA: Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmorad Sidhu of White Hill Studios, who have made movies such as Jatt and Juliet 1 and 2, Punjab 1984, Sardaar Ji, Sardar Ji 2, Channa Mereya, Carry on Jatta 2, have come up with a new Punjabi film named Muklawa.

Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmorad Sidhu of White Hill Studios, who have made movies such as Jatt and Juliet 1 and 2, Punjab 1984, Sardaar Ji, Sardar Ji 2, Channa Mereya, Carry on Jatta 2, have come up with a new Punjabi film named Muklawa. 

Directed by Simarjeet Singh, the story is written by Opinder Waraich. Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa are lead actors. Gurpreet Ghuggi, BN Sharma, Karamjeet Anmol, Nirmal Rishi, Gurpreet Bhangu, Sarabjeet Cheema and Drishti Grewal are the supporting cast.

Ammy Virk, who was in the city today, said: “As the movie is set against the backdrop of Pre-Partition Punjab, it was a unique experience shooting for it. It is a first-of-its-kind romantic comedy movie and I am hopeful the audiences will love it.” He further added that the old living style, food and tradition of Punjab had always attracted him and he felt great living it while shooting the movie.

Producers Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmorad Sidhu said it was good to see the Punjabi cinema flourishing with time and making constructive films on important topics. 

They said Muklawa would be another gem in the kitty of Punjabi cinema. They added that it was the duty of film makers to introduce the rich culture and heritage to young generation and their team was working towards it with dedication. 

They said: “Muklawa is a unique romantic movie which not only depicts the innocence and trust in love, but also shows the way of living of Punjabis in the old times.” They added that it was a challenge to showcase the rich Punjabi culture in real sense, but the team did it perfectly.
