MMU to start health services from today

LUDHIANA: As part of its effort to make health services accessible, the Health Department has released a schedule of the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), which will provide health services in villages under the jurisdiction of the Koom Kalan Community Health Centre (CHC) from June 22 to June 30.

As part of its effort to make health services accessible, the Health Department has released a schedule of the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), which will provide health services in villages under the jurisdiction of the Koom Kalan Community Health Centre (CHC) from June 22 to June 30.

Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu said the MMU would provide health facilities in villages, including Chak Sarwan Nath on June 22, Prithipur on June 23, Rajool on June 25, Borre on June 26, Bhamian Kalan on June 27, Bhukhari Kalan on June 28, Budhewal on June 29 and Rayan village on June 30.

He said one doctor, medical officer, laboratory attendant, X-ray technician, counsellor and other staff would accompany the unit.

He said whenever the MMU had to visit a new village a public announcement was being made so that most of the villagers could be benefitted.

He said the MMU facility had been started by the state government to provide health facilities in areas lacking basic facilities.

“Apart from health services, the unit also provides awareness regarding health schemes,” he added. — TNS
