Mishap death a murder

LUDHIANA: The police have arrested three persons in the case pertaining to the murder of 32-year-old Deepak Kumar, alias Khatta, of EWS Colony, whose body was found on the railway tracks in June, 2017.

The police have arrested three persons in the case pertaining to the murder of 32-year-old Deepak Kumar, alias Khatta, of EWS Colony, whose body was found on the railway tracks in June, 2017. Earlier, It was suspected that he died in a train accident.

Now, the CIA 1 staff have arrested three of his friends for allegedly killing him. The police claimed that the accused were allegedly involved in drug peddling and they were earlier arrested on a tip-off given by Deepak.

While addressing media persons, DCP (Investigation), Ludhiana, Gaganajit Singh said the accused were granted bail and released from the jail. After coming out of the jail, they kidnapped Deepak and murdered him with a sharp weapon, electricity wires and an iron rod near the railway tracks alongside Radha Swami Road. They dumped the body on the railway tracks to make his death appear as an accident.

The accused have been identified as Rachpal Singh of Gagan Nagar, near Giaspura; Gurbakhsh Singh, alias Honey of Dashmesh Nagar, and Ankush Sharma, alias Ankush, of MIG flats near Dhuri Railway tracks Ludhiana. Two other accused, named Gagandeep Singh, alias Gaggu, and Kali were already lodged in Ludhiana Central Jail in another case. Besides, one of the accused, Rohit, is yet to be arrested, the police said.

Gagandeep is involved in more than 10 cases with various charges, including murder and attempt to murder.
