ECTOPIA-2019 began on Tuesday in DMCH with much fanfare and enthusiasm among students and faculty. The function was formally inaugurated by secretary of DMCH managing society- Prem Kumar Gupta, along with the medical administrators present on the occasion. The theme of ECTOPIA 2019 this year is ‘Roman Invicta’ which means ‘unconquered Rome’. The mascot for ECTOPIA-2019 was Goddess Athena of Roman civilisation, which stands for wisdom, justice, courage and law. Pooja Prasad of MBBS Batch 2017 was made the mascot. Principal Dr Sandeep Puri said the purpose of organising the cultural meet was to help the students in overall development of their personality and bring out the best in them.

Programme on oral cancer

Indian Dental Association (IDA), Ludhiana, under the leadership of president Dr Aman Goyal and secretary Dr Atamjeet Singh conducted a CDE programme on oral cancer by inviting esteemed national speakers. Dr JS Sekhon (Director Oncology) talked about various symptoms and causes of oral cancer and how to prevent the same. Dr Harish Matta (Surgical oncologist) said how surgical oncology can help in prevention of cancer and can stop the spread of cancer with the use of latest technology and Dr Skekar Kapoor taked about cancer. The speakers were welcomed by President of IDA, Ludhiana branch, with a welcome address.
