Ludhiana, December 17
Following the directions of the Local Government, Punjab, the Municipal Corporation has started measuring the flow of untreated sewage discharge in the Buddha Nullah that pollutes the Sutlej.
An official of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation informed that they have started the process for measuring the flow of discharge into the Buddha Nullah from six points.
The official said the Local Government has asked them to submit a report on the current flow of sewer discharge at STPs. The existing three STPs are not sufficient to treat the entire sewer water of the city.
It is learnt that a special task force is supposed to start de-silting of the nullah in the coming days. The delegation headed by Naamdhari sect head Satguru Uday Singh had inspected the nullah last month.
