Ludhiana, January 10

The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) pulled down an illegal wall being built on the roof a booth at Bhadaur House. Property owner was trying to raise height of the said booth. Mohan Singh, Assistant town planner, Zone A said, “The building plan was approved for just one storey. Owner cannot increase the height of the booth.”

The Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) has the roof rights of booths under its Bhadaur House Scheme. The scheme was handed over to the MC. Meanwhile, the LIT on Thursday once again asked the civic body to take necessary action against illegal constructions at Bhadaur House.

It is pertinent to mention that a number of booths have been converted into multi-storeyed buildings at Bhadaur House. However, the MC has yet not conducted a survey to check actual number of violations in the market.
