Mata Sahib Kaur Hockey Academy of Jarkhar village observed the 123rd anniversary of Olympic Day by organising an exhibition match.

More than 100 sub-junior and junior hockey players turned up to attend the celebrations. International cyclist Jagdeep Singh Kahlon told the players about the importance of the day.

Speaking on this occasion, Arunjit Kaur, senior hockey coach, Punjab Sports Department, listed the achievements of star hockey players — Major Dhyan Chand, Olympians Prithipal Singh, Surjit Singh Randhawa and Udham Singh.

Jagrozop Singh Jarkhar, Director of the academy, dwelt upon the details of the Olympic movement and congratulated the Federation of International Hockey (FIH) and Hockey India on this eventful day.

The match played ended in a draw (2-2). The players were given sports kit and T-shirts.
