Ludhiana: The students and staff of Guru Tegh Bahadur National College, Dakha, organised a function to commemorate the centenary of the Jallianawala Bagh tragedy. A two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs was observed. The principal thanked Anand Sarup Singh Mohie, college president, and the management for organizing the event to sensitise the students about the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. The chief guest for the event was Abhey Singh Sandhu, a nephew of Bhagat Singh.

Tech-fest at CET

College of Engineering and Technology is organising a two-day tech-fest, 'Dhiuksham 2019', from April 18 to 19 on its campus. The fest is aimed at spreading new ideas and creative learning in the technical and non-technical fields. An inter-college competition will be held on the first day and will witness performances by famous Punjabi singers. The cast of Punjabi movie Lukan Michi will also be present. The fest consists of more than 30 events. The chairman, Vijay Gupta, informed that as many as 3000 students are expected to participate in the event.

GHG Khalsa College students shine 

The students of the postgraduate department of physical education, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, have brought laurels to the college by securing multiple positions in the Panjab University MPEd results. Manjinder Kaur bagged first position followed by Simranjeet, Virender bagged third position, Santosh secured fourth, while Priyanka, Prabhjot, Manpreet and Aadil bagged sixth, eight, ninth and tenth, respectively. The students of MPEd first year also secured the top three positions. Inderpreet Kaur bagged first position in the university followed by Maninderjit Kaur, Feroz Khan stood third, while Sarabjeet grabbed fifth position. Manjit Singh Gill, president, congratulated the achievers for their success. 

Nukkad natak staged

Guru Nanak institute of Management and Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, staged a nukkad natak to spread awareness amongst youngsters on voting rights. The natak was staged in the college campus and Kipps Market. The natak was staged by Jaskaran Arora, Gurpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Navpreet Singh, Jasbir Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Anil Fageria, Akshita, Poonam, Sejal, Gautam, Sanjlesh Nandan and Ajay. TNS
