A man in his thirties was killed after being hit by a three-wheeler here last night. The deceased has been identified as Abhay Kumar, a resident of Urban Estate, Phase I, in the Focal Point area.
The accident took place near Dholewal Chowk while Abhay was strolling on the road after dinner. A three-wheeler hit him from behind. Abhay suffered severe injuries on the head and other parts of the body. The auto-rickshaw driver fled the scene.
Passersby rushed the victim to Civil Hospital. Abhay’s father, Pawan Kumar, said the doctors at Civil Hospital referred Abhay to the CMCH. However, he succumbed to injuries. The police have registered a case on a complaint of Pawan Kumar.
“A case has been registered under Section 304-A, IPC, against an unidentified driver,” said the investigating officer, SI Jasbinder Singh. TNS
