Major-General meets NCC cadets

Ludhiana: The New ADG Major General, Jugesh Chaudry of PHH&C, NCC Directorate, visited the NCC Group head quarter at Sarabha Nagar. He was welcomed by the Commander Brigadier Narinder Kumar. The ADG took stock of the training being carried out and appreciated the efforts being put by instructor, ANOs and cadets. The ADG spoke with the cadets, the instructors and the ANOs at the PI Club at Punjab Mata Nagar. He encouraged the cadets to take part in all the NCC activities and take maximum advantage of facilities such as shooting, riding and flying for better career opportunities. He also felicitated the instructor, cadets including Cadet Ashiyna, who won the 'Best Cadet' award in the PM Rally 2017.

Diwali cultural festival at SDP

The SDP Senior Secondary School, Hazuri Road, the Basti Jodhewal and the  Quilla Mohalla branch celebrated joint Diwali festival on the premises of the SDP College for Women here today. The students presented bhangra ,pop dance, mimicry, mime, group dance, solo dance, and 'mehfil -e-kawali'. Principal explained the importance of the festival and congratulated the participants for their performance. The meritorious students were also honoured on this occasion. Allchildren and guests were served lunch.

58th general conference

The DRV DAV Cent Public School participated in the 58th general conference and in the All India Schools Festival of in Hyderabad. There were different competitions such as painting, declamation, group dance and one act play were held. As many as 27 different schools from all over India participated in this competition. The school bagged first prize in the painting competition which was awarded to Amisha, a student of Class X. Sunidhi of the same class won II prize in the declamation. Riya, Gagandeep and Paras of Class XII and Harjinder, Amisha, Akshita, Sunidhi and Mayank of Class X participated in a group dance and won second prize.

Kids back eco-friendly Diwali

Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Jalandhar bye pass, Ludhiana, celebrated Diwali. The campus wore a festive look with diyas, lanterns and bright colours. Candles and diyas displayed were of varying shapes and sizes. The tiny tots conveyed a message to celebrate the festival with lights but not by bursting crackers.

Parkash Purab kirtan

On account of Prakash Purab of Guru Ramdas, the GRD Academy and Texla Group is organising a 'kirtan darbar' on the campus of on October 14 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. On this occasion renowned 'ragis' will contribute their bit in the name of Guru Ramdas. The 'kirtani jatha' of the academy itself will also participate in the event. The 'kirtan darbar' will be followed by langar.

Inter-house contest

Nanakana Sahib Public Senior Secondary School, Isru, organised an inter-house fruit and salad making competition. The object of the event was to create awareness about health eating habit and avoiding junk food.— TNS
