Four students from the district are among the top 10 rank achievers on the academic merit list of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class X examinations, the results of which were declared today. Five students from the district are among the top 10 rank achievers in the sports category merit list. The board has issued separate merit lists for academic and sports categories this time.
As many as 92 students from the district figure on the merit list of 425 students, the highest from a district in the state. Nine of these students are from the sports category (out of a total of 23 students on the merit list).
The cut-off for the merit list was 624 out of 650 marks this year and the last rank secured by the students on the merit list is 23. As many as 45,873 students appeared for the exams from the district, of whom 28,809 students passed the exam. Though the number of students from the district on the merit list is the highest in the state, the district is at the 10th spot in the state with a pass percentage of 60.8.
On the sports category merit list, five among the top 10 include Shivam Kumar from BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, who has got the second rank in the state securing 99.23 per cent; Harmanjot Kaur from Nankana Sahib Model High School, who has secured the sixth rank scoring 98.46 per cent; Shubham from RS Model Senior Secondary School, who has bagged the seventh rank by scoring 98.46 per cent; Bhanu Shashi from BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, who has secured the ninth rank with 98.15 per cent; and Roshan Kumar from
Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, who has secured the tenth rank with 98 per cent marks.
In the academic merit list, four students from the district are among the top 10 achievers, including Prabhjot Joshi from BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, who has secured the seventh rank scoring 98.46 per cent marks, Gagandeep from RS Model Senior Secondary School and Himani Sharma from BCM Senior Secondary School, who are joint ninth with 98.15 per cent marks, and Jashanpreet Kaur from Moonlight Public Senior Secondary School, Hedonbet, who has secured the tenth rank by scoring 98 per cent.
