The two-day match between Ludhiana and Mohali in the ongoing Inter-District (U-16) Cricket Tournament played at GRD Academy on Hambran Road here on Sunday ended in a draw. However, on the basis of the first innings lead of 70 runs, hosts Ludhiana were declared winners. Ludhiana secured 3 points, while Mohali got one point.

On Saturday, Ludhiana, in their first innings had scored 156 runs and at the draw of stumps, Mohali were 35 for 2. They could muster only 86 runs in 41 overs, yielding a lead of 70 runs.

Ludhiana’s Sidhant Tiwari ran through Mohali’s innings sending the visitors packing at 86 runs. He scalped six wickets after giving away 16 runs in 18 overs, nine of which were maiden.

In their second innings, Ludhiana was 20 for no loss after 10 overs, when the umpires called it off.

Due to uncertain weather, the Punjab Cricket Association has resolved to postpone the remaining matches of the tournament. In a message from the association, it was informed that the new dates would be announced later.
