Ludhiana-II zone score two back-to-back wins

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana-II zone scored two back-to-back victories in the U-14 category in the ongoing Ludhiana District Inter-Zonal Football Tournament for Boys being organised by the Education Department at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, here on Thursday.

Ludhiana-II zone scored two back-to-back victories in the U-14 category in the ongoing Ludhiana District Inter-Zonal Football Tournament for Boys being organised by the Education Department at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, here on Thursday.

Ludhiana-II zone lads played two matches on Thursday and wrapped up both the issues. In the first match, they outclassed Khanna zone 2-0 and in the second one, survived a scare against Raikot zone whom they pipped 2-1 to record second win in a row. The second match was decided via a tie-breaker.

Dakha zone had mixed day as they won their match against Samrala zone 2-0 but went down fighting 0-1 against Kila Raipur zone, whereas Jagraon zone outplayed PAU zone 5-4 and Sahnewal zone got the better of Raikot zone 1-0.

In the U-17 section, Jagraon zone toiled hard to overpower Kila Raipur zone 1-0 while in the U-19 category, Raikot zone beat Dakha zone 2-0 and Sahnewal zone quelled stiff challenge from Jagraon zone before romping home victorious 4-3.
