LGC supports Diwali without crackers

JAGRAON: Ludhiana Group of Colleges (LGC) Chaukimann, near Jagraon, in collaboration with an NGO- Supreme Welfare Society- organised an awareness rally to celebrate a pollution free Diwali.

Ludhiana Group of Colleges (LGC) Chaukimann, near Jagraon, in collaboration with an NGO- Supreme Welfare Society- organised an awareness rally to celebrate a pollution free Diwali. 

Jagraon SDM Ram Singh and the college director, JK Chawla jointly flagged off the rally. The rally started form the Kamal chowk area of Jagraon and culminated at the same point after passing through Lajpat Rai Road, Railway Road, Link Road and Tehsil Road. The college students and members of the NGO were carrying placards with messages of pollution-free Diwali and clean and green Diwali written on them. 

The rally got a rising support from the local residents and passersby who were educated about the ill-effects of indiscriminate firing of crackers on the day of Diwali.
