Leader hurt as pistol goes off accidentally

KHANNA: A former member of SGPC and prominent leader of Sukhpal Singh Khaira group, Sarbans Singh Manki was injured when he was hit by a bullet from his own pistol that accidentally went off.

A former member of SGPC and prominent leader of Sukhpal Singh Khaira group, Sarbans Singh Manki was injured when he was hit by a bullet from his own pistol that accidentally went off. Manki was rushed to a local hospital where the doctors referred him to the DMCH in Ludhiana.

Manki, along with others, was planning for the cooperative society elections stated for tomorrow. When he stood up and tried to tighten his belt (he has a lower back condition),  his pistol went off and he was hit in the leg. The villagers present there rushed him to a local hospital from where he was referred to the DMCH, Ludhiana. 

The doctors were trying to remove the bullet from his leg when the reports last came in. Before the state Assembly elections, Manki had joined AAP. He fought the elections on the Samrala seat. Some time ago, he had joined the Khaira group.  SP(I) Khanna Jasvir Singh said no case was registered as the pistol went off accidentally.
