The daily routine was seen upset at majority of educational institutes of the area following intermittent showers since yesterday. Registering significantly lower turnout, the authorities at the institutes and teachers had to reschedule their classroom work so as to enable absentee students suffer minimum loss. Classroom teaching was worst affected worst in case of lower classes.

Authorities at schools, taking house examination prior to winter holidays, had to adjust students coming late due to delayed running of buses and tempos.

Intermittent showers since yesterday affected routine of members of all sections of society. Attendance was thin at primary and middle schools of the town.

Acknowledging the tendency, Principal of a Government Senior Secondary School, Baljit Singh, said attendance in junior classes was affected more adversely in lower classes than in higher classes due to rains today morning. “While 10-20 per cent students of higher classes remained absent, attendance in lower classes fluctuated around fifty per cent”. He further said the affect was predominant in the rural areas.

Another principal of a private aided school at local town Viney Kumar said almost all students appearing in house examinations had attended the school today. “However, we had to change sitting plan and time schedule so that students coming late could be accommodated,” said Kumar.
