Independence Day was celebrated at Childhood Kindergarten Playway School, Punjab Mata Nagar. Students of the school on the occasion presented patriotic songs and the fancy dress competition which was the highlight of the function. All students came dressed up as freedom fighters and politicians. The school was decked up with Tricolours, balloons and kites. A cultural programme was also organised in which kids participated.
Guru Nanak school
The students of Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, were caught up in the spirit of patriotism and celebrated Independence Day. The primary wing at the school was decorated with Tricolour balloons, flags and kites. Students of Nursery and LKG were dressed up as freedom fighters and national leaders. Students of class UKG sang patriotic songs. The students of primary, middle and senior wing shared their views on significance of the day.

The school celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The school presented various patriotic activities. The campus was decorated with Tricolour posters and balloons. Students were dressed up as freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Lakshmi Bai. All students wore special Tricolour badges
Babies Paradise school
Children at the school celebrated Independence Day with zeal. They were dressed up as freedom fighters. Children also sang national anthem. They spoke slogans of freedom fighters. They also unfurled the national flag.
Guru Nanak Public School
Primary Wing of Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension, held a special assembly. Students of classes I to V conveyed the important message of patriotism and national spirit through role plays, poetry recitals, dance and rendering of songs. The school was adorned with Tricolor, balloons and flags. The special assembly of the students to commemorate the day created an ambience of patriotism.
Janmashtami celebrations
Janamashtami was celebrated on Friday at St Xavier Playway School, Civil Lines. Most of the children came to school dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha. Songs related to Janmashtmi were played. An animated video of Lord Krishna's life was also shown to the kids. School Director, Prof VM Chopra highlighted the significance of Janmashtami. Gifts and sweets were distributed among children after the function.
SVN Sr Sec School
The festival of Janmashtmi was celebrated on Friday at the school located in BRS Nagar. Children of Nursery, LKG and UKG dressed up as Radha and Krishna. Principal Pardeep Kumar told the significance of the festival.
BCM Kindergarten
Students of the school celebrated Janamashtmi to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. Tiny tots dressed up as Krishna and Radha. They enacted the various scenes depicting the life and incidence of Lord Krishna.

Oliver House, Preschool and Daycare, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, celebrated Janmashtami with great joy. Children were dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha.
Spring Dale School
Spring Dale Senior Secondary Public School, celebrated Janmashtami with zeal and enthusiasm. On the occasion the tiny tots of the kindergarten dressed up as Krishanas and Radhas.The centre of attraction was the 'dahi handi' event which culminated with the offering of 'makhanmishri' to Lord Krishana.
