Under the Punjab Government’s flagship programme an information education and communication (IEC) van was flagged off from Baba Banda Bahadur Gurdwara, Khanna, today.

The van visited Government Primary School No. 8 and Government High School, New Model Town, Amloh Road, Khanna. An awareness campaign was held wherein students were briefed about various diseases and steps to prevent them.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajinder Gulati, Senior Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Khanna, said promoting good personal hygiene habits protects children from germs and diseases.

Earlier, a medical camp was organised by a team from the Community Health Center, Manupur.

Around 145 patients were examined and 73 tests were done on the spot. Moreover, 24 children and six pregnant ladies were immunised.
