Teacher’s Day was celebrated at various educational institutes and surrounding localities. Students greeted their teachers by presenting flowers and attractive cards. Addressing students and teachers at MGMN Senior Secondary School, Shanti Tara College for Women, Guru Nanak of Ayurvedic Medicine, Victoria College for Women, HARF College and Victoria Public Senior Secondary School, speakers said teachers were the foundation stone of any nation. “When a teacher educates a child, he contributes in the process of nation building. An ordinary person reaches apex in respective field by virtues of his or her education and deeds, which are tailored necessarily by a teacher,” said Amjad Ali, former district governor, while addressing a seminar at HARF College, Bir Ahmedabad. As many as 12 teachers from various institutes were felicitated for their outstanding performance during a function held by Rotary Club at Gandhi School.

Bal Bharti School

Students put their best foot forward to express gratitude to their teachers. They organised a scintillating programme in the school auditorium to make this day memorable. Principal Punam Dogra inaugurated the ceremony by offering flowers to the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The programme began with a welcome by the school band to all teachers and principal.

Everest School

Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the school. The teachers were honoured by Rajinder Sharma, director, Everest Group of Schools, for their commitment and dedication to the cause of education. He shed light on the works and contribution of Dr Radhakrishanan, the former President of India and a model teacher of the nation. He advised students to prepare themselves to lead others and face hurdles bravely.

GMT Public School

The programme started with an invocation to the Almighty. Principal Jasbir Kaur Bal appreciated the performance put up by the students. She appreciated the constant endeavour of teachers in bringing the school laurels. To recognise their outstanding service, teachers were honoured.

Green Land School, New Subhash Nagar

To mark the birthday of the great teacher and philosopher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and thank the teaching faculty, students organised a great show dedicated to their teachers. The programme commenced with a prayer song sung by the school choir, followed by offerings Dr Radhakrishnan by Principal Jyoti Pujara, teachers and students. Students presented flowers to their principal and teachers as a token of love and gratitude. Students of senior classes presented an act in which they played roles of principal, coordinators and teachers.

DAV, Pakhowal Road

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and acknowledge the efforts of their teachers Principal Satwant Kaur Bhullar, the school student council organised a spectacular get together for the teaching staff. The day kicked off with a tribute to Dr Radhakrishnan. Teachers were super excited for the upcoming celebrations. Students entertained the teachers with their self-composed poems, songs and speeches.

Darshan School

The school observed Teacher’s Day by showing gratitude and appreciation towards its teachers. Students organised a special extended assembly and presented a colourful and fun-filled programme comprising vibrant dances, skit, songs and speeches. Students honoured the teachers with mementos for their tireless service.

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar

Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, excitement and joy during a special morning assembly. Students expressed gratitude and love for their teachers through speeches. Principal Bandana Sethi extended her greetings to faculty members and motivated them to strive for perfection to meet the challenges of modern teaching for holistic growth of the children.

BCM Kindergarten

Tiny tots celebrated the day with fun and a spirit of festivity. Students offered flowers, greeting cards and gifts as a token of affection and love to show gratitude towards their teachers.

ABC Magical World

The day started with a melodious prayer song presented by the tiny tots. A puppet show on the relationship between teachers and students was also put up. Students offered their teachers fresh flowers and beautiful hand-made cards. A colourful cultural programme comprising dances and acts was presented. Students thanked their teachers for guiding their lives on the path of progress, followed by a cake cutting ceremony.

GMT International Public, New Vishal Nagar

A floral tribute was given to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan during the morning assembly. The celebrations began with an address by the head girl and head boy welcoming the gathering. Guriqbal Singh Thind, director of the school, and Principal Amarjit Dhaliwal appreciated the endeavours of the students. She also commended the efforts of every teacher for the efforts they selflessly put in every day.

Nankana Sahib Public

The celebrations were a little different in the school. To know about the challenges faced by their principal and teachers, students of Class XII staged an enactment in which they played the roles of principal and teachers for the day. For the first four periods, the actors taught the students nursery to Class XII.

Kiddies Paradise

Tiny tots celebrated Teacher’s Day with great enthusiasm. They wished their teachers with flowers, greeting and gifts. The school director highlighted the role of teachers in the life of students.

DCM Presidency School

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Classes XI and XII, wherein they thanked their teachers for shaping their destiny. They mesmerised the audience with their dance and singing performances. A special get together was also arranged for teachers. Principal Rajni Kalra congratulated the students for organsing a successful event.

BCM School, Chd Road

The celebrations started with performing a havan, followed by a plethora of performances by the students to express their gratitude to their teachers. Principal P Guleria motivated the teachers to accept changes as per the changing scenario of education to fulfil their duties effectively. Teachers took oath to make their students an asset to society by moulding their lives with love, affection, dedication and hard work.

Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town

The teachers were honoured by the school management with gifts for their commitment and dedication to education. A fun-filled day was organised for teachers at Pavilion Mall to enjoy the movie, Batla House, followed by a grand lunch at Castle Barbeque.

Sat Paul Mittal School

Principal thanked teachers for the contributions they make to the lives of their students. The members of school’s governing council, academic advisory council and the Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust were present on this occasion. A cultural extravaganza was organised by the students to appreciate the unwavering commitment of their teachers. They left no stone unturned to entertain teachers through cultural items.

HVM Convent

Students of Class XI and XII took over the duties of teachers for the day. A special morning assembly was held in which the students paid homage to their teachers through poems and speeches. The school management organised an outing for the school teachers to a resort for participating in recreational activities and a grand lunch. The president of the school, DP Sharma, chairman Dilbagh Singh, and members of the management lauded the staff of the school for their exemplary contribution to school’s phenomenal success. Principal Sunita Kumari appreciated the efforts of teachers in playing an important role in the holistic development of students.

KVM, Civil Lines

Principal Navita Puri commenced the function by offering a prayer to seek the blessings of the Almighty. Kapil Gupta, school manager; Ashwani Kumar, secretary, Kundan Lal Trust; and VK Goyal, chairman of the school, addressed the teachers and appreciated their diligence, sincerity and hardwork. Teachers were also honored for their excellent work in academics.

BCM College

A poem recitation and declamation competition was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Students presented their views on the contribution of teachers in shaping their lives. Motivational videos and PPTs on ‘Role of teachers’ were also screened. Prem Kumar, executive director, Lala Bahadur Chand Munjal Foundation, appreciated the efforts of students and laid emphasis on the importance of teaching.

Bajaj College

Students celebrated the day with great gusto. A cake cutting ceremony was performed by Principal Shikha Dhall, college director Annie Bajaj, faculty members and students.

Govt Science College

Students of postgraduate department of botany and chemistry organised a special programme to celebrate the day. The college director, Gurcharan Singh, stressed that teachers should develop such qualities so as to become role models for their students. Students played games with their teachers and presented a cultural programme to make the day memorable.

Kamla Lohtia SD College

Students expressed gratitude towards their teachers. Principal Mukesh Kumar Mahajan focused upon constructive role of defining a teacher.

Khalsa College for Women

Amandeep Kaur, principal, GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, was the chief guest of the function. Principal of the host college, Rajwinder Kaur Hundal, welcomed the chief guest. She highlighted the importance of teachers in every walk of life. Students enthralled the audience with folk songs, dance and skit performance.

Partap College of Education

Principal Manpreet Kaur welcomed Balwant Singh, director of the college. He said a good teacher was a pillar in the life of students. He motivated the students to become a good person and a good teacher. He laid emphasis on devotion, determination and dedication of a teacher towards their profession.

Gulzar Group of Institutes

The theme for the celebrations was role play. Students of the seniors batches acted as their teachers and delivered lectures to the junior students. Gurkirat Singh, executive director of GGI, said teachers played a great role in building career and caliber of young students. He congratulated the teachers for tireless efforts put in by them to shape the future generation.

AS Group of Institutions

Students presented a cultural function to mark the day. Harpreet Singh, director of the institute, congratulated the teachers on the occasion. He underlined various aspects of a teacher’s role as a member of social transformation. A skit by the students grabbed the attention of the audience.

Govt College for Girls

A plantation drive was organised to mark the celebrations. Principal Manju Sahni was the chief guest on the occasion. Students enthralled the audience with their performance. Members of the staff performed a cake cutting ceremony.
