Guru Nanak Stadium centre boys, DCM girls emerge winners in volleyball

LUDHIANA: Guru Nanak Stadium Coaching Centre and DCM Presidency School emerged winners in volleyball in the boys and girls sections (U-14), respectively, on the second day of the Ludhiana District Level Games for Boys and Girls being organised by the Punjab Sports Department with the help of the district administration at different venues here on Tuesday.

Guru Nanak Stadium Coaching Centre and DCM Presidency School emerged winners in volleyball in the boys and girls sections (U-14), respectively, on the second day of the Ludhiana District Level Games for Boys and Girls being organised by the Punjab Sports Department with the help of the district administration at different venues here on Tuesday.

Competitions in 17 sports disciplines are being conducted under the Tandarust Punjab mission during the three-day event in which around 1,600 players (U-14) are vying for top honours.

In the boys’ section, Government Senior Secondary School, Gidharwindi, secured second position and Dyal Public School finished at third place. In the girl’s category, Government Senior Secondary School, Gidharwindi, and Government High School, Jargari, secured second and third position, respectively.

Boys

High jump: 1st Vishawjit, 2nd Sayyam and 3rd Ridham

Shot put: 1st Kulbir Singh, 2nd Sidakbir Singh and 3rd Kunwarveer Singh

Table tennis (team event): 1st Bal Bharti Public School, 2nd GRD Academy, 3rd Alpine International Public School and DCM Presidency School

Table tennis (singles): 1st Amrinder, 2nd Rumarth, 3rd Gurpreet and Bhavyam

Roller skating 500-m inline race: 1st Arnav, 2nd Sukhraj and 3rd Ranbir Singh

1,000-m inline race: 1st Arnav, 2nd Sukhraj and 3rd Ranbir Singh

Gymnastics (team event): 1st Coaching Centre, Khanna; 2nd Coaching Centre, Ludhiana ‘A’; and 3rd Coaching Centre, Ludhiana ‘B’

Hockey (semifinals): Sri Bahini Sahib beat Kila Raipur 4-0 and Malwa Khalsa School beat Rampur 4-0

Basketball: DGSG Academy beat DCM Presidency School 35-16 and Gymkhana Club beat DAV Public School, BRS Nagar 37-20

Judo (below 25-kg): 1st Manvir Singh, 2nd Paras Bains and 3rd Paramvir Singh; (below 30-kg): 1st Gautam, 2nd Amar and 3rd Jagjeet Singh

Badminton: 1st Krish Chadha, 2nd Akshit Mithani and 3rd Yogeshwar Narang

Girls

200-m race: 1st Kuljit Kaur, 2nd Zeenat Bibi and 3rd Harshika Dhami

Roller skating 500-m quads race: 1st Manya Garg, 2nd Rachita Chandok and 3rd Prabhnoor Kaur

Gymnastics rhythmic exercise: 1st Khushi, 2nd Nishika and 3rd Manpreet Kaur

Hockey: Coaching Centre, Khalsa College beat Sacred Heart School 5-0, and Coaching Centre, Jalaldiwad, beat Government Senior Secondary School, Jalaldiwad, 3-0

Basketball: SGHP School, Doraha, beat DCM Presidency School 16-12 and Baba Ishar Singh Club beat Sri Bhaini Sahib Club 12-8
