Guru Gobind Singh Public School bags overall trophy

LUDHIANA: Students of Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Pakhowal Road, bagged the overall trophy in the Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex Athletics Meet held at International Public School, Sandhu Nagar, Civil City, here on Thursday.

Ludhiana, January 12

Students of Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Pakhowal Road, bagged the overall trophy in the Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex Athletics Meet held at International Public School, Sandhu Nagar, Civil City, here on Thursday.

Participating in various age groups, students of the school bagged nine gold medals, besides five bronze medals which fetched them the trophy.

Students who won gold medals include (girls U-19) Ramandeep Kaur in 800-metre race; Arshdeep Kaur in 100 and 200-metre race; Noordeep Kaur in discus throw; Navneet Kaur in 400-metre race; (girls U-14) Ashmeet Kaur in 400-metre race; Dilpreet Kaur in 200-metre race; (boys U-17) Prabhsimran Singh in shot put; and Vivek in discus throw events.

The bronze medal winner students were (girls U-19) Ramandeep Kaur, Arshdeep Kaur and Navneet Kaur in relay races, while Noordeep Kaur in shot put and boys (U-17) Bhavandeep Singh in long-jump event.

Dr Manjit Kaur Makkar, Director-cum- Principal of the school, congratulated the students on their achievement and wished them more success in future tournaments. She also appreciated Manpreet Singh and Harmeet Singh, staff of physical education department, for their guidance to students.
