Girl nabbed with 4-kg heroin

KHANNA: The police claimed to have recovered 4-kg heroin from the possession of a girl hailing from Mizoram and her accomplice.

The police claimed to have recovered 4-kg heroin from the possession of a girl hailing from Mizoram and her accomplice.

The accused have been identified as Anand Kumar, a resident of National Park 75, Anandpur Road, Maksooda, Jalandhar, and Shivangi, a resident of Raithar Aizwal, Mizoram.

Khanna Senior Superintendent of Police Dhruv Dahiya said, “The police team led by Manjit Singh, In-charge, Narcotic Cell, along withSHO city-2 Rajnish Kumar laid a naka near Pristine Mall, GT Road. The cops saw a car coming from the Gobindgarh side and after seeing the naka, car occupants tried to flee but were nabbed. Manjit Singh called Jasvir Singh, SP (I) for frisking the duo.”

He said, “During inspection cops recovered 4-kg heroin from their possession and disclosed that they purchased the consignment from Mike, a resident of Nivada, Delhi, and were going to deliver it to Gurbhej Singh, a resident of Seecha near Sultanpur Lodhi, and Kala, a resident of Totiya.

The SSP said, “The girl had delivered heroin to Gurbhej and kala in Punjab nine times in the last few months.”

A case under Section 21-29/61/85 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and will be produced in a court.
