Girl honoured for combating snatcher

A girl, who fought bravely with a mobile phone snatcher, was honoured by the Commissioner of Police, Rakesh Agrawal, at his office today.

On September 14, Harjinder Kaur of Ramandeep Colony, Mundian Kalan, Ludhiana, was walking on the road, along with her mother, when a motorcycle-borne person tried to flee after snatching her mobile phone.

She held the motorcycle from behind, but the snatcher did not stop and dragged her to some distance.

She did not leave the bike and after some time, the snatcher lost balance and fell on the road.

After the incident, the accused was arrested. Impressed with her bravery, the Commissioner of Police today invited her to his office and honoured her with an appreciation letter.

Her mother was also present. While appreciating her bravery, Agrawal appealed to the city residents to help the police in fighting anti-social elements.
