GGSPS student selected for state-level athletics meet

Ludhiana, October 13

On the basis of fine performance in the Ludhiana District Inter-Zonal Athletics Meet held recently at Guru Nanak Stadium, Parneet Kaur from Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Daad village, has been selected to participate in the Punjab Schools Inter-District Athletics Meet.

Parneet competed in the javelin-throw event (U-19 category) and came out victorious chipping in a gold medal. Three other students from the school — Vivek Kumar, Prabhdeep Singh and Bhawandeep Singh — also secured positions in this meet to hog the limelight. In the boys’ U-19 group, Vivek Kumar won bronze in javelin throw while Prabhadeep Singh finished at third place to win the bronze medal in shot-put (U-17) and Bhawandeep claimed bronze medal in the high-jump event in the same age group. —OC
