Ludhiana: Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, bid adieu to Lord Ganesha on the occasion of Ananat Chaturthi, which marks the end of Ganesh Utsav. The campus was adorned with flowers and streamers. Students of pre-primary sections came in colorful dresses and made recreated Lord Ganesha with coloured rice. A Lord Ganesha idol-making activity was also organised for students of Classes III to V. Later, students immersed idols of Lord Ganesha in the water pool. 

5th International Humanity Olympiad

Students of Police DAV Public School, Police Lines, Civil Lines, brought laurels to the school performing excellently in the fifth International Humanity Olympiad, organised by Satyug Darshan Trust. Priyal Jain, Rhythm Jain and Rajanpreet Singh have secured 211, 258 and 314 ranks, respectively. As many as 500 students from all over the country participated in the competition.

Seminar on stress management 

To overcome stress and diet-related issues, an interactive session was organized at DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road. Dr Jagjot Singh, MBBS, MD, consultant psychiatrist from Fortis Hospital; and Pooja Munjal, dietician, were the resource persons of the day. Dr Singh shared with teachers and students various ways to deal with stress. He encouraged healthy discussion with teachers to generate solutions to manage stress in an effective manner. Munjal shared important tips related to balanced diet. She stressed that one should get regular health check-ups to ensure a healthy physique.

English poem-recitation competition

DCM Presidency School, elementary campus, conducted an English poem recitation competition for its tiny tots. Students were judged on the parameters of rhythm, mood, diction and expressions. 

Inter-playway handprint competition

To develop coordination and motor skills of tiny tots, Ryan International School, Dugri,  organised an inter-playway mother and child handprint drawing competition. Through this competition, students were encouraged to strengthen the bond with their mothers and to explore their creativity through art. Drawings were judged on the basis of perspective in line, colour composition, presentation and theme. TNS
