Gaganpreet, Kashvi declared best athletes at girls college

LUDHIANA: Gaganpreet Kaur and Kashvi Chhabra shared top honours as they were jointly declared best athletes of the 76th Annual Athletics Meet of Government College for Girls, which concluded here on Wednesday.

Gaganpreet Kaur and Kashvi Chhabra shared top honours as they were jointly declared best athletes of the 76th Annual Athletics Meet of Government College for Girls, which concluded here on Wednesday.

Gagandeep Kaur and Komalpreet Kaur were named the best players of the current academic session.

Dr Parminder Singh Ahluwalia, director, Sports, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the chief guest at the prize distribution function while Dr Dharam Singh, principal of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, was the guest of honour on the occasion.

Retired principals Mohinder Kaur Grewal, Krishan Singh and Manju Sahni along with Kuldeep Singh, Deepika Dhir, Rani Harinder, Dr Mukesh Arora and Sudarshan Mehta were among others present there.

Dr Sukhwinder Kaur, head of the physical education department, proposed a vote of thanks.

Results

  • 200-m race: Kashvi Chhabra first, Hardeep Kaur second and Shagun third.
  • 400-m race: Kashvi Chhabra first, Jyoti second and Avleen Kaur third.
  • Three-leg race: Jyoti and Anjali first, Jagdeep Kaur and Manmohan Kaur second, Kiran and Meena third.
