The police have arrested four snatchers who were involved in many incidents reported in the city.

Additional DCP Gurpreet Singh Sikand said the Jagatpuri police nabbed two snatchers, namely Bablu Mandal, a native of Bihar and at present residing at Lohara, and Nirmal Singh Tony, a resident of Jodhan. They had snatched Poonam Sharma’s gold chain at gunpoint on April 19.

They confessed they had also snatched the gold chain of a Congress worker at Chandar Nagar on March 22. The police have recovered a scooter, a bike and four gold chains from them.

Meanwhile, during a routine naka on the Hargobind Nagar bridge, a snatcher, Rakesh, of Chhwani Mohalla, was nabbed. The police recovered two gold bracelets and four mobile phones from his possession.

Another snatcher, Amrinder Pal, alias Raja, who was wanted in a snatching case, was taken on production warrant from jail and his arrest was made in an old snatching case. — TNS
