Three bike-borne robbers looted a factory owner of cash and valuables at Focal Point yesterday.

The complainant, Gurcharan Singh, a resident of Model Town Extension, said he owned a factory in Phase IV, Focal Point. Yesterday, he entered his factory on his car. He was carrying a bag containing Rs 1 lakh in cash, three passbooks of post office, a cheque book, insurance papers and other documents.

“Later, I parked my car in the nearby plot and returned to the factory. A few minutes later, three bike-borne men, who were carrying arms, entered the factory. Before I could ask them something, they pounced on me and snatched my bag containing cash and other documents. After snatching the bag, they fled the scene on their motorcycle. Since the robbers had covered their faces, I could not recognise them,” the victim told the police.

The investigating officer, ASI Charanjit Singh, said there were no CCTV cameras installed inside the factory.

The police were scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas to get some clues about the accused.

A case under Section 380 and 454 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against three unknown persons.
