Extension Lecture

Ludhiana: The Red Ribbon Club of SCD Government College under the leadership of Dr Poonam Mahajan organised an extension lecture. The lecture was delivered by  Dr Bhatti,  former DGP Punjab on drug abuse and de-addiction. He was welcomed by the principal Dr Dharam Singh Sandhu. He centered his talk on why drug abuse is more prominent in Punjab. Being a border state, terrorism too was prevalent in Punjab. He talked about the ill- effects of drugs. The  principal Dharam Singh Sandhu welcomed the chief guest and informed the students about how their performance in studies and sports is affected due to drugs. He also spoke on the dangers of getting affected with the disease - Aids. The students performed a one-act play on the theme of drugs and recited  poems related to this issue.

Award-giving Session held

An award-giving session was organised for the students at Bajaj College. Students who had participated in various activities were appreciated for their efforts. The participants of the street play based on the initiative to clean Buddha Nullah, performed at the event 'Aan Milo Dariyao' and were rewarded by the representatives from Aditya Jethli foundation namely, founder Aditya Jethli and secretary Lalit Bedi. They also lauded the students who exhibited a street play during the Traffic Safety Week with the help of their mentor Imran Athar. The guests of the occasion were presented with souvenirs by the principal. TNS
