Ludhiana: Students of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, celebrated Independence Day. Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary, Legal Services Association, Ludhiana, unfurled the national flag to commemorate the day. Students informed the people about the freedom fighters and their role in national struggle. A dance on “United India” was also held on the occasion.  Dr Gurpreet asked students to beware of divisive forces that are harming social, political and religious fabric of India.

New ABC Montessori

New ABC Montessori Basant Avenue celebrated Independence Day. The school was decorated with flags and tricolour balloons. All students dressed in attire of different freedom fighters, including Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Indian armed forces and Bharat Mata.

Childhood Kindergarten 

Students celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm at Childhood Kindergarten Playway School.  Students came dressed as freedom fighters. The entire school was decked up with national flags, balloons and kites. Students gave a splendid performance on the song “Nanha munna raahi hoon”.

Int’l Youth Day celebrated

International Youth Day was celebrated at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Sector-39. The programme commenced with a skit ‘Aaj Ka Yuva’ highlighting how a person can achieve anything with sheer determination and grit.  Students also gave a speech on the need to adopt a global sense of responsibility.

Quiz contest organised

Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar, hosted LSSC quiz contest-2018. Twenty-eight teams from various schools of Ludhiana participated in the event. The preliminary round comprised written test and the first six teams competed in the final. Eight rounds of the quiz had questions from various subjects, including history, science, sports, literature etc.

RS Model School

Science Club of RS Model Senior Secondary School organised an intra-school science quiz for students. As many as 12 teams took part in the quiz and displayed their scientific aptitude. Harleen Kaur, Prabhjot Kaur and Jyoti stood first, respectively.

Reading contest held 

Students of Ryan International School, Dugri, participated in a reading competition. Students showcased their skills by reading stories from books and news from newspapers. They also used verbal expressions to make reading more expressive and lively.

Students shine

Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex Swimming Championship was held at DPS. Ekamjot Kaur won two gold, a silver and a bronze whereas Tarunpreet Singh won two gold.

Monsoon Day celebrated

Monsoon Day was celebrated at BCM Kindergarten. Tiny tots enjoyed rain dance on rock music. Students came to school in traditional colourful dresses. Principal Dr Vandna Shahi said such activities act as stress busters. — TNS
