LUDHIANA: The Vigilance Bureau today nabbed an employee of the District Social Security Department here while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a woman.

The Vigilance Bureau today nabbed an employee of the District Social Security Department here while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a woman. He has been identified as Tajinder Kumar, who is employed as a data entry operator.

The SSP, Economic Offences Wing, Paramjit Singh, said Zarina of Kabir Nagar had complained that Tajinder had demanded Rs 10,000 to restart her closed pension account, but the deal was struck for Rs 5,000. A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 has been registered.
