Throwing all caution to the winds while clicking selfies is a disturbing trend that has snuffed out many young lives. Youngsters, unaware of the dangers, pose for selfies at the riskiest spots and in most precarious positions. Some want to capture their ‘daring acts’ on railway tracks, others want to click their photos with wild animals – their all-consuming desire being to capture it all on their mobile phone and possibly share it on social media! They are oblivious of the serious repercussions of their misadventures that may very well land them in a hospital or even prove fatal. Parents, teachers and social media can play an important role in educating the youngsters about the dangers of selfies gone awry.
