Ludhiana, October 19

The Punjab Plywood Manufacturers Association (PPMA) held its General House meet today in which all its office bearers and executive members participated.

In the meeting, Ashok Kumar Juneja, Chairman and Inderjit Singh Sohal, President, said none of the Plywood Manufacturing unit would give supply and all allied supplies to those dealers who are bad pay masters and have withheld the payment of any unit against the supplies without any reasonable cause.

Sukhdev Chhabra, Secretary General, said the Supreme Court had already ruled that the government should ensure that new plywood units could only be installed subject to the availability of wood. Now, since ready poplar and safeda crop is too less in Punjab, therefore no new licenses be given.

Naresh Tiwari, Chairman, NIPMA-led deputation of PPMA to Som Parkash, Union Minister, requested him that plywood and its allied products be excluded from the preview of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). — TNS
