DGP visits Khanna, asks officials to solve pending murder cases

The DGP-Punjab, Suresh Arora, visited here yesterday to see the progress of pending cases. He was accompanied by IG Arpit Shukla and DIG Yurinder Singh Hayer.

The DGP and other officials held a meeting with the SSP-Khanna and other officials concerned to check the progress of the pending cases. The DGP also appreciated the campaign of the Khanna Police against drugs in the area and lauded officials for working sincerely.

The DGP directed the police officials to work hard on pending murder cases, including the murder of Shiv Sena leader of Khanna Durga Gupta and two dera followers of Jagera. He also asked them to act tough on drug peddlers and gangsters.

The SSP, NS Mahal, said Arora, along with the IG and the DIG, were presented the guard of honour on his arrival here. Four officials and police personnel were honoured by the DGP. The DGP asked them to employ more technical ways to investigate cases and to set up nakas to keep tabs on gangsters and anit-social elements.

The SP (D)-Khanna, Jasvir Singh, and other police officials of the district were also present.
