Ludhiana, June 18

Shopkeepers near the Damoria bridge today claimed to have nabbed two thieves who had stolen goods from their shops yesterday. Today when they were passing by their shops, the shopkeepers identified them.

Rajinder Singh, constable on Police Control Room (PCR) duty, said a shopkeeper, Joga Singh, and others had called up the police. “The shopkeepers told us that these two thieves, who are aged between 25 and 30, had broken into their shops yesterday. Today when they were noticed outside their shops, they were cornered by the shopkeepers and nabbed,” he added.

The constable alleged that the thieves were handed over to the Kotwali police. Both are drug addicts. However, no stolen goods were recovered from them. “We have handed over the thieves to the Kotwali police and further investigation is being carried out by the police station,” he added.
