Dal protests play at alumi meet, takes to streets

Members of the Bajrang Dal staged a protest outside SCD Government College on Monday. They were protesting against the play that was staged at the college on Sunday during the alumni meet.

Ashish Goni, co-convener of Bajrang Dal, Punjab, said they came to know that the play that was staged on the college campus had some objectionable content. It revolved around Ram, Sita and Draupadi and some inappropriate words were used for Hindu gods.

Principal Dharam Singh Sandhu said the play was on women empowerment and nothing objectionable was depicted in it. The play had won many university and zonal-level competitions in the past, he said.
