Govt school at Thareeke gets new building

LUDHIANA: Taking forward its initiative to upgrade physical infrastructure of government schools in Ludhiana, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in collaboration with Ralson (India) Ltd renovated Government Primary School, Thareeke, under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

Taking forward its initiative to upgrade physical infrastructure of government schools in Ludhiana, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in collaboration with Ralson (India) Ltd renovated Government Primary School, Thareeke, under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

The new building has 10 classrooms, kitchen block, modern toilets and furniture.

The building was inaugurated in the presence of Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pradeep Kumar Agrawal and Baldev Singh, chairman, CII Ludhiana Zonal Council, among others.

The DC said, “While our nation is one of the fastest developing economy in the world, education, especially at school-level is one of the areas wherein a lot needs to be done. Industry certainly can play a meaningful role through such initiatives. ”

Sanjeev Pahwa, former chairman, CII, and managing director, Ralson (INDIA) Ltd shared his experience on how he managed to transform the dilapidated school building and infrastructure through his firm belief that investment in education, especially at school-level is equivalent to investing in creating leaders of tomorrow.
