Public awareness is the necessity and proper legislation can play a positive role in ensuring compliance of traffic rules and guidelines. Engagement of the police and NGOs can make people active partners in implementation of road safety rules. Students can be roped in for awareness campaigns on traffic and road safety. “Contemporary educational reality has proved that in case of education for life skills training, the formative efficiency is achieved with maximum results in real, practical space for traffic education, on the streets, to the detriment of the counterfactual one, mainly theoretical, in the classroom.” (National Strategy for Road Safety in Romania for the period 2016-2020).

Most importantly, a strong punitive action against the violators of the road safety rules is imperative. The fear of punishment acts as a deterrent.
