Days after the Ludhiana police exposed the flesh trade being run in spa and massage parlours in the city, Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal today conducted a meeting with owners and managers of these centres to apprise them of the rules and guidelines.

Agrawal, along with the senior officials, today met owners and managers of 41 spa centres operational in the city.

He categorically told them to run the business in a legitimate manner or be ready to face action.

“If you are running these centres, you have to follow the rules and regulations. Any complaint of illegal activity like flesh trade may land you in jail. All SHOs have already been briefed not to spare any one in case of wrongdoing. Our policemen will keep a close watch over the activities of spa centres,” the Police Commissioner said.

While sharing guidelines to run spa centres, he said it was must for the owners to install CCTV cameras to cover all entry and exist points and the reception desk.

He added that all centres must have at least 30-day recording back-up so that at the time when CCTV footage is required, the police could easily access it.

The Police Commissioner said owners were responsible to maintain record of every customer in the form of identify proofs and mobile numbers, failing which they may land in trouble.

He said verification of all employees working in these centres should be done so that the police could easily access their identity when needed.
