Ludhiana: Mathematics Department of Khalsa College For Women, Civil Lines, organised an extension lecture on “Imaginary numbers are real” for the students. The resource person was Dr Raj Kumar from DAV University, Jalandhar, and a visiting research scholar at Brigham Young University, USA. He compared complex and real analysis along with stereographic projections on Riemann sphere.

Seminar held on ‘Education on e-way’

Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Civil Lines, organised a national seminar titled “Education on e-way”. Dr. Sunil Dutt, Professor and Head, Department of Education and Educational Management, NITTTR, Chandigarh, was the chief guest. Dr Nerotma Sharma, introduced the resource person and other guests. Dr Dutt said that there are three As i.e. anybody, anytime and anywhere in learning through e-way which make the whole teaching learning process interesting and easy. Dignitaries from various colleges presented their papers on various sub-themes of the seminar. The book titled “Assessment for learning” in Punjabi medium for BEd students of Panjab University, Chandigarh authored by Dr Sukhwinder Singh, assistant professor of Malwa Central College of Education for Women was released by Dr Harpreet Singh along with Dr Mukti Gill, Principal Khalsa College of Women and Dr Naginder Kaur, principal, Malwa Central College of Education for Women, among others.

Ad-mad show organised

The Department of Business Management and Commerce of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, organised an ad-mad show today. Thirteen teams participated in the event and students presented various ads related to different products, services and current social issues, including Voter’s Day, girl’s education, health issues and water conservation.

Road safety week concludes

Government Science College, Jagraon, observed road safety week to create awareness among the students regarding traffic rules. During the valedictory programme, the college director, Gurcharan Singh accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest, Jaspal Singh, Inspector, PCR, Jagraon. He told the students about the importance of traffic rules and exhorted them to follow them seriously. Nidhi Mahajan presented the report of programmes held in the college to observe road safety week. Jaspal Singh enlightened the students about traffic rules and pointed out the serious consequences in case these rules are not followed properly. Different activities like debate, slogan writing, helmet day and poster making competition on different topics related to road safety were held on the ocassion. TNS
