Ludhiana, January 3

Two friends had a miraculous escape after the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree on Pakhowal Road last night. The duo, identified as Vicky (33) and Bunny (34), both residents of Sarabha Nagar, suffered minor injuries.

Vicky, who is an industrialist, owns the car.

“The incident occurred around 11.30 pm last night. Vicky, who was driving the car, lost control over it when he tried to steer clear of a stray dog that abruptly came on the road. He swerved to the left and rammed the car into a tree,” said Vicky’s friend.

They called up their friends who shifted them to the nearby hospital, the police said. The impact was so strong that both safety airbags of the car inflated. Police officials, who visited the spot, denied that the car occupants were drunk.
