Two persons had a miraculous escape when their Mercedes car caught fire near Khanna today. By the time the fire brigade reached the spot, the car was already burnt down.

Neeraj Kaushal, a resident of Mani Majra, Chandigarh, along with his mother, was going towards Ludhiana in his white-coloured Mercedes. When they reached near the Daheru overbridge on the Ludhiana-Rajpura road, some commuters told them about smoke emanating from the car.

Both occupants of the car came out of the car and were able to remove some valuables. In no time, flames engulfed the car. After being informed, the police and the fire brigade reached the spot, but the car was already burnt. The Khanna DSP said they were inquiring into the matter. — OC
