Akashdeep Singh of Ludhiana added another medal to his kitty, as he clinched his second individual silver medal in the ongoing 35th edition of the Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championship in Pune on Tuesday.

Akashdeep took 29.28 seconds to notch up a silver medal in the 50-m backstroke event in the boys’ group II. He missed the gold medal by just a micro second. The gold medalist clocked 29.25 seconds, while the third position holder finished in 29.58 seconds.

On the opening day of this championship, Akashdeep won a silver medal in the 100-m backstroke event.

He also established three new meet records at Jalandhar to stamp his supremacy.

Apinder Singh Grewal and Balraj Sharma, president and general secretary, respectively, of the Punjab Swimming Association appreciated Akashdeep’s achievement. They congratulated Akashdeep and his coach Ajay Sharma on this outstanding achievement.
