Holding Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government responsible for abrupt increase in prices of petrol and diesel, the district unit of the Communist Party of India held a demonstration at the railway station.

Various speakers said the RSS controlled BJP government at the Center has no concern for the problems related to a comman man. In 2014 the BJP had held semi-naked protests on the issue of price rise against the previous government. At that time petrol price was Rs 71 per liter. But after they came to power the price of crude has come down by four times since then.

Despite crude falling down in international market the price of petrol and diesel has increased to Rs 85 per liter.

CPI had warned the government of cascading effect of fuel price hike on the prices of every item, but all this fell on deaf ears of the Modi government which resorted to price hike in May.

“The country is facing worst ever price rise. All this is being done to give doles to the Ambanis warned the speakers. Public sector petroleum units have been ignored. The government has in fact failed on all fronts,”said DP Maur, district secretary CPI.
