Car rams into roundabout as driver loses consciousness

LUDHIANA: A man driving Hyundai Creta car lost control over the vehicle reportedly after falling unconscious. The speeding car rammed into the divider and then hit a mini roundabout at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Sunday morning.

A man driving Hyundai Creta car lost control over the vehicle reportedly after falling unconscious. The speeding car rammed into the divider and then hit a mini roundabout at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Sunday morning.

As per eyewitnesses, the car driver either suffered a cardiac arrest or a bout of epilepsy. “The accident occurred near the hostel No. 5 at around 8.40 am in the morning. Creta was being driven if not at high, but at a medium speed. Suddenly, driver fell on the steering and the car rammed into the mini roundabout. Students took driver to a hospital,” said Vipan Dawar, who was passing by.

Another person, who was riding in the car, said, he was a servant of the driver and they were on way to the PAU craft mela. The PAU SHO, Paramdip Singh, said no information was given to the police either by the university or by the victim’s family. — TNS
